This 45 minute DVD gives you an insider's look at dogs and dog mushing from champion musher, Lance Mackey.
Lance Mackey is the preeminent long distance sled dog racer in the world! In 2007, and again in 2008, he made racing history when he won two 1,000 mile races back-to-back, the Yukon Quest and the Iditarod, an incredible feat of endurance long considered almost impossible.
In February 2008, Lance won an unprecedented fourth Yukon Quest title, also winning the Veterinarian's Choice Award for excellence in dog care throughout that grueling race.
Lance Mackey comes from a family of sled dog racing champions. His father, Dick Mackey, helped create the famous Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race in 1973 and then won that race in a famous photo finish in 1978. Lance's brother won the race in 1983. Lance, his wife Tonya, and their family make their home at Comeback Kennels near Fairbanks, Alaska.
In this video, Lance talks about his dogs, his races, his family legacy and his dreams for the future of sled dog racing!
