Owners will be strapping on dog harnesses to their pets this weekend as they prepare for Woofstock.
The event, taking place to raise money for the Chesapeake Humane Society, will see an array of breeds in attendance for competitions, demos, entertainment and health screenings, the Virginian-Pilot reports.
In addition, a pledge walk will be taking place, which will see the pets in their dog leads taking part in a half-mile jaunt with their owners, who will receive a T-shirt and one-year membership to the society among other treats.
Meredith Hines, who organised the "pet ‘n’ people" procession, said: "People love to go out there and show off the family dog and walk for a good cause."
The Frisbee Dogs will be at the show to demonstrate their ability, while other canines will be able to take part in the action in agility trials.
Health is also a concern of the event, which will feature pet first aid classes and low-cost microchipping.
Another charity walk is set to take place in order to fundraise for the Arthritis Society, to which canine participants are also invited.
