Charity dog sledder ‘can’t wait’ for event

September 30th, 2009

A London woman has spoken of her keenness to participate in a dog sled to raise money for a water charity.

Kiri Crequer, 24, told South London Today about how she will drive her dog sled for six days in April to travel from Norway to Sweden.

The Wimbledon-based freelance web editor wants to raise £3,000 for WaterAid.

Ms Crequer will brave ice valleys, mountains and forests at arctic temperatures on her adventure and is training by improving her diet and swimming three times a week.

She told the newspaper: "I can’t wait. On the first day I will get to meet 130 Alaskan huskies and find out which ones will be my life support for the next six days."

WaterAid works with partners to bring clean drinking water, hygiene and sanitation projects to poor countries.

It also lobbies both nationally and internationally for policies to help people in the developing world get proper sanitation and safe water.ADNFCR-2611-ID-19385468-ADNFCR
