September 23rd, 2009

Animal lovers looking for fun places to strap on a dog harness and enjoy a spot of exercise could take part in an upcoming event in London.

The capital is to host Autumn Ambles on September 26th and 27th, which will see participants offered 40 routes in and around the area.

Experienced guides and wildlife experts are to be on hand during the trips, offering local information along with directional tips.

Many of the jaunts will be in the east of the conurbation to mark the build up to the 2012 Olympic Games, with the Lea Valley and Jubilee Greenway among the regions where trails will be available.

A route will also be available along the Thames path, including a jaunt which takes in the area of Woolwich where the Royal Arsenal events take place.

Commenting, the mayor’s transport advisor Kulveer Ranger said: "From parks to riverside walkways, woodlands to canalside paths, London has an extraordinary abundance of walking routes that lend themselves to exploration during autumn."

Other areas of the city which could be fun places to take dogs include Hyde Park and Hampstead Heath.ADNFCR-2611-ID-19375148-ADNFCR
