ABSA Robin Hood event “very interesting” for sled dog enthusiasts

October 26th, 2009

Sled dog racers have been promised a "very interesting" course at an Affiliated British Sleddog Activities (ABSA) event later this year.

The Robin Hood bash is set to take place on December 5th and 6th at Sherwood Pines in Nottingham.

It is one of the championship races in the organisation’s 18th season and will cater for a number of classes of canines, including Sibes.

Competitors can expect a flat trail with hard-packed ground and grassy patches, meaning dog boots may not be required.

There will be courses of up to four miles, with juniors able to tackle route of one or two miles.

People interested in packing up their dog harness and getting involved have until November 23rd to get their entries in.

Enthusiasts could also be set to converge on Larkhill Barracks in Wilshire on January 2nd and 3rd.

The Alaskan Malamute Working Association is holding two long-distance treks at the event, with December 19th the cut-off point for entries.ADNFCR-2611-ID-19427248-ADNFCR
