People taking their canines out with them trick or treating this weekend should ensure their animal is wearing a dog harness, it has been advised.
The Reading Eagle noted that October 31st may be a bit too spooky for pets to be out and about, but offered a few tips for individuals to consider if they did want to take them around their neighbourhood.
It is important not to let canines eat any chocolate or sweets that are given out, as they can be poisonous to dogs, the website pointed out.
People who want to dress their pet up in a costume should make sure the clothing does not restrict its movement, vision, breathing or hearing.
The online resource further advised: "Outfit him with a reflective harness and leash as well as an identification tag and a microchip, in case he gets away from you."
Earlier this week, pet shop owner Sara Delaney shared the above sentiments with the news provider WCBD.
She said a dog harness would be a vital accessory for animals accompanying their owner on a trip trick or treating.
