Dog scooter ‘provides fantastic exercise for animal and owner’

Canine lovers looking to get in shape should invest in a dog scooter, if one expert is to be believed.

In an article for the Continental Kennel Club, enthusiast Daphne Lewis stated riding the contraption can have great mutual exercise benefits.

She suggested it could be a particularly fun activity for animals that love to stretch their legs when out of the home.

However, Ms Lewis cautioned those interested in enjoying the sport should first train their dog – and themselves.

She said learning how to maintain a steady speed can be key, while ensuring the scooter does not catch up with the canine.

Correct use of the vehicle’s brakes can also be key on hilly ground, the commentator added.

"[Riding the vehicle] will allow you to explore the countryside and give you both good sleep when you get back home. Soon you will become addicted like the rest of us scooterers," she remarked.

Mark Schuette, who has designed a range of dog scooters, told the Daily Mail earlier this year it learning to use the contraptions is "relatively quick".ADNFCR-2611-ID-19411602-ADNFCR
