Sled dog competitors in the Yukon Quest will not be affected by the Canadian Rangers (CR) pulling out of maintaining its course, it has been stated.
Organisers have promised to bring in a new team to manage the site before the big kick-off on February 6th, according to CBC News.
Executive director Wendy Morrison said a blueprint is already being drawn up to incorporate the changes and that John Mitchell, exercise coordinator at CR, will be staying on to offer his expertise.
Volunteers will also be recruited to help construct part of the circuit, with snowmobiles and fuel also being costed up.
Ms Morrison told the news source the event was undergoing "a little bit of a shift".
"We’re hoping that the mushers in particular … won’t even notice the change", she remarked.
It was recently announced that Hans Oettli will be the marshal for the race, having worked as a judge in the last event.
