The British Siberian Husky Racing Association (BSHRA) has announced changes to its point-scoring system.
According to representative Steve Rooke, some members were confused about how veteran, rookie and bitch scores were worked out.
Under the old rules, those taking part would be given points based on how many teams they beat in a certain race.
However, the changes mean that officials will focus purely on how many teams are beaten which are "in competition".
"This excludes NC and other breed teams. If you beat ten teams in competition, you are rewarded with ten points – it’s as simple as that," Mr Rooke remarked.
Set up at the end of the British Sleddog Racing Association 1995-96 season, the BSHRA aims to foster a positive spirit and camaraderie between racers.
Its season runs from November to March – its next meeting takes place at Rendlesham Forest in Suffolk on December 19th and 20th 2009.
