Could taking up canicross be a great way to get fit in 2010?

December 23rd, 2009

A lifestyle publication has suggested taking up running could be a great way to get fit in the new year – a tip that could be taken a stage further by getting involved in canicross.

Deputy features editor at Zest Elin Tough predicted Britons will be getting in shape in parks and green spaces rather than gyms in 2010, due to the effects of the recession.

She remarked: "One of the best things about outdoor exercise is that it’s free."

Her comments follow a recent report in the Wiltshire Gazette and Herald which revealed a couple from the county – Cushla and Simon Lamen – have set up a canicross group.

They are holding an event at Beechenhurst Lodge in the Forest of Dean this Saturday (December 27th 2009), titled the Rudolph Rampage.

Mr Lamen told the news provider: "Joining a canicross group gives you an added incentive to get out and about especially during the winter."ADNFCR-2611-ID-19528474-ADNFCR
