Iditarod racer Redington ‘has taken advantage of good snow fall’

December 18th, 2009

As he prepares to race in the Iditarod 2010, Ryan Redington has been able to take advantage of good snow fall in Alaska this winter.

The musher told the Anchorage Daily News his preparations for the Last Great Race on Earth are going well.

As part of his training, he is organising and taking part in the Alaska Excursions 120 event, which kicks off over the weekend (December 19th 2009).

He told the news source he was excited about the few days of dog sled racing he has ahead.

"Having a race here early in the season seemed like a good thing to do here. I talked to a few different mushers and there seemed to be a lot of interest so I went out and decided to do it," he remarked.

Another musher looking forward to the Iditarod‘s March 6th 2010 start is Scotsman John Stewart.

He recently told the Press and Journal that the race will be a test of nerves and tactics.

The likes of three-time winner Lance Mackey and Jeff King are already set to have a tilt at winning the event, along with Ken Anderson, Jessie Royer and Jamaican rookie Newton Marshall.ADNFCR-2611-ID-19521202-ADNFCR
