SHCGB Aviemore rally visit ‘dream come true for disabled youngster’

January 27th, 2010

While officials have recently praised the perfect race conditions at Aviemore over the weekend, for one little boy just being at the event was a dream come true.

Ryan Loynes, who suffers from Batten’s disease, had always wanted to meet real Siberian Huskies after seeing them in his favourite Disney film Snow Dogs, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

So he was thrilled to be able to visit the Siberian Husky Club of Great Britain’s biggest event of the year in the Scottish Highlands.

Charity Dreams Come True arranged the jaunt, which saw Ryan cuddle and stroke the canines.

His dad Jacob told the news provider it was a weekend to remember for the youngster.

"This has been a magical experience far beyond our greatest expectations and our heartfelt thanks go to Dreams Come True," he said.

The Aviemore Rally regularly attracts 200 sled dog teams from across the UK, who pit their wits against a course in the shadow of the Cairngorms mountains.ADNFCR-2611-ID-19582214-ADNFCR
