The Canicross Trailrunners has managed to secure access to a number of events in the coming months, meaning racers will have plenty of opportunities to use their dog harnesses.
In correspondence to members, Simon Lamen advised putting ‘Running with Dogs’ on the application forms and said that canicross competitors will start behind the main pack at the events.
The series of races will begin at Alice Holt Forest in Hampshire on March 27th 2010, where racers will compete in the Bolk ‘Round the Holt.
On Saturday May 1st, the Wiggle Thunder ten km Canicross will take place, while there will also be a ten km and three km run at the Keswick Festival in the Lake District on May 23rd.
Summer will also bring a number of canicross-friendly races, starting with the Magic Roundabout ten km in Hay on Wye on June 6th.
The Forest Trail in Swinley Forest (June 29th), 10km Forest Trail (July 1st), Forest Trail in Sherwood Pines (July 13th) and Forest Trail in Delamere (July 15th) are also on the calendar.
Last weekend (February 21st and 22nd), Denise Croucher held a canicross race at Olivers Battery Recreation site in Winchester.
