Canicross Trailrunners meeting for February and March races

February 2nd, 2010

Canicross competitors are set to converge on courses in East Sussex and Hampshire over the coming weeks for a series of races.

This Saturday (February 6th 2010) will see the Merrell TuffMan ten-kilometre event take place at Pipingford Park Estate, while the May Hill Massacre 8.75-mile race is being held the day after.

Meanwhile, February 21st 2010 sees the Forest of Dean Canicross Club Meet commence at Soundley Ponds car park.

The event kicks off at 10:00 GMT, meaning members need to congregate at 09:45.

Later in the month (February 26th to 28th 2010), three days of racing take place in the Forest of Dean, starting and finishing at Mallards Pike.

Known as the Wyedean Quest, the event runs on the same courses as sled dog races, meaning they are 3.5 to 4.5 miles long.

Simon Lamen from the Canicross Trailrunners has also asked members to forward their details so he can re-compile a contacts list after his computer malfunctioned.

Canicross, a growing sport that combines dog exercise with running, requires competitors attach an animal to themselves using a dog lead or dog harness.ADNFCR-2611-ID-19593235-ADNFCR
