SHCGB South Alwen sled dog race ‘features hills’

February 3rd, 2010

Mushers planning to compete in the Siberian Husky Club of Great Britain’s (SHCGB) South Alwen Forest event have been advised the course includes a few hills.

The event, taking place in north Wales on March 13th and 14th 2010, will feature hard-packed woodland trails, which organisers stated are typical for this part of Britain.

Numerous classes will take place in the meeting, which kicks off with a rig inspection at 09:30 GMT, followed by a mushers’ meeting at 10:15.

Facilities will include a portable toilet at the local Sportsman’s Arms pub, with catering also set to be on hand at the site.

Organisers have advised that the Forest Gate will not open for access until 08:00, meaning it is important competitors do not block the entrance before this time.

The SHCGB is also running events in Pembrey, Grimsthorpe, Black Isle and Rendlesham this month.

Last month, it held the Aviemore rally in Scotland, which is one of the biggest events on the mushing calendar.ADNFCR-2611-ID-19596156-ADNFCR
