Want to learn more about sled dog judging?

February 8th, 2010

Mushers looking to learn more about how to judge sled dogs have been invited to an event being held by the Siberian Husky Club of Great Britain (SHCGB).

The meeting will take place at Horspath Village Hall in Oxford on March 21st 2010 and is geared towards showing the ropes to people who are new to the presentation and handling side of the sport.

It will take the form of several small skills sessions where A1-listed judges will be in attendance to offer guidance and advice.

Organisers have stated the seminar could be the perfect event for those looking to increase their knowledge of Siberian Huskies and what goes through a judge’s mind when they are handing out prizes.

The cost of the session is £25, with a £5 discount for members. Interested parties need to pay their fee and book by March 14th 2010.

Last month saw the SHCGB hold its annual Sherwood Pines Rally, which saw Pete Jones, Kev Spooner, Ian Muncaster, Wayne Mort, Tony Fethon, Katie Keen and Hannah Jones win their class races.
