Mushers packing up dog harnesses for South Alwen Forest meeting

March 8th, 2010

Mushers will need to pack up their dog harnesses, dog leads and dog food for a meeting in South Alwen Forest this weekend (March 13th and 14th 2010).

The Siberian Husky Club of Great Britain (SHCGB) is holding the north Wales event, which will kick off with a rig inspection at 09:30 GMT on the Saturday morning.

This will be followed by a mushers’ meeting at 10:15, before the first race begins at 11:00.

Organisers have notified competitors that the forest gate will not be opened until 08:00 each morning, meaning it is important not to block the entrance before this time.

Provisions will include a portaloo at the local Sportsman’s Arms pub, while there will also be an on-site caterer.

Later this month, the SHCGB will also be holding a Showing and Judging seminar in Horspath, Oxford.

A chance to learn more about presentation and handling, the event costs £20 for members and £25 for non-members.ADNFCR-2611-ID-19656158-ADNFCR
