Mushers taking their dog harnesses to Tentsmuir this weekend

March 5th, 2010

Mushers will need to ensure they pack up their dog harnesses for a meeting in Tentsmuir this weekend (March 6th and 7th 2010).

The Sled Dog Association of Scotland (SDAS) is holding the event, which will see numerous race classes take place on the area’s forest trails.

Hugh and Judy Walker have been in charge of arranging the meeting, which is the last event of the current season.

Competitors have been told to expect well-packed trails made up predominantly of grass, with some sandy sections.

Organisers explained: "After extensive re-grading of trails in mid-2009 using sharp stones, that have yet to bed down, it may be necessary to boot dogs or change trail distances nearer to the race date."

The last SDAS race took place at Ae on February 6th and 7th 2010 and saw the likes of Pete Jones, Steven Lindsay, Vicky Lee, Matthew Clarke and Martin Owen emerge victorious.ADNFCR-2611-ID-19653517-ADNFCR
