Riding a dog scooter is one way of keeping a husky active.
Writing a column for Bakersfield.com, dog trainer Sherry Davis said a lack of snow is no excuse for not getting active with a sled dog.
She offered the advice to a reader whose husky, Koda, has wreaked havoc in their garden.
Ms Davis suggested the canine’s exercise needs are not being met and that his "anxiety and frustration" is being demonstrated by his destructive nature.
"The Siberian husky is classified as a working dog, and Koda needs to find legitimate employment if the family ever wants to enjoy the beauty of their yard again," she remarked.
Activities could include biking, backpacking or mushing, she said.
Ms Davis added that keeping huskies confined to a garden with a fence is unnatural – and this must be tackled along with increasing exercise.
Earlier this month, Pennsylvanian schoolgirl Jayleana LaFollette told the Tribune Democrat she loves taking her family’s Siberian husky for a walk.
