Picturesque views await sled dog enthusiasts in France

Sled dog enthusiasts who head to the Auvergne region of France to try their hand at mushing can expect some picturesque scenery.

According to the Daily Telegraph, the region around Aurillac is a "magnet" for winter sports fans, who enjoy taking part in dog sledding, skiing and snowshoeing.

Commenting on what mushers can expect in the area, columnist Eric Owen said it is home to unspoilt countryside which is perfect for outdoor pursuits.

Meanwhile, its hilly landscape offers thousands of walking and cycling routes.

"Untold millennia went into making the magnificent volcanic landscapes and fertile pastures of the Auvergne. Today, they offer untold pleasures and activities, from the ultra-active to the unashamedly relaxed," Mr Owen remarked.

Last year, Switzerland’s tourism authority pointed out that the central European nation is a good place to try sled dog activities.

Representative Julie Melet said there is plenty to do for those bored of skiing and snowboarding.ADNFCR-2611-ID-19796215-ADNFCR
