Canicross competitors planning to take part in a CaniX training camp have until Friday (June 4th 2010) to send their entries in.

The event is taking place in the Forest of Dean in Gloucestershire between July 3rd-4th 2010.

It is intended to allow canicross racers to sharpen their skills ahead of the EuroCaniX Championship, which is taking place in Liege, Belgium in October.

According to organisers, the focus will be on training human competitors rather than canines.

"The dogs will be putting their paws up, but the humans will be put through their paces!" they said.

Cancross enthusiasts could also take part in a number of events organised by the Canicross Trailrunners this summer.

The group is holding a 10km event in Epping Forest, London, on July 1st 2010, with a similar length race taking place in Sherwood Pines on July 13th 2010.

Two days later, a 10km race will be held in Delamere Forest in Cheshire.
