Those planning to take part in the upcoming Siberian Husky Club of Great Britain (SHCGB) season have been advised of how to prepare equipment such as dog harnesses

According to the mushing organisation, dog harnesses

A mild detergent should be used to lift dirt off the straps, while ganglines should be hosed down.

To ensure that the equipment does not shrink – as may happen in a tumble dryer – it should be drip-dried away from a heat source.

The recommendations could offer food for thought for those looking forward to the SHCGB’s 2010-11 programme of events.

Although the final details of all races have yet to be announced, the date for Britain’s biggest mushing event, Aviemore, has been confirmed for January 22nd 2011.
