Canicross competitors who do not mind getting their hands – and feet – dirty may decide to take their dog harnesses to an upcoming event in Camberley.
The HumanRace MudMan contest is due to take place on December 4th 2010 and will see hardy runners tackle a tricky track through forests and gullies.
Although it is primarily geared towards dog-free runners, organisers are accepting submissions from canicross competitors, according to the Canicross Trailrunners (CT).
"This race is not for the faint-hearted. Though slightly shorter than the IceMan event, it is just as challenging and even more rewarding," they remarked, referencing another event which is open to canicross runners.
Entry costs £22 for the 10km run and £55 for a relay duathlon, which involves two 7.5km running stints and 14km of cycling.
The CT's members are set to get involved in a number of events this year, including the Canine Aquathon, which will involve running and swimming with a dog in Eastleigh, Hampshire on September 26th 2010.
