Canicross competitors take racing titles

August 20th, 2010

A pair of team-mates from the GB Cani-Cross squad have placed second and third in a local racing event.

The Lancashire Telegraph reports that Victoria Mousley and Debbie Gowans took the silver and bronze positions in the Pendle and Burnley Grand Prix Series.

Both canicross competitors are active runners and took part in the 12th and final event of the series – the Worsthorne Moor Magnificent 7 – on August 15th.

Those who prefer running with their dog may be keen on an upcoming event in December, which will see them tackle a difficult track.

Canicross Trailrunners reports that while the HumanRace MudMan competition is mainly aimed at those who run without their dogs, applications from canicross competitors are also being accepted.

Entrants may decide to take their dog harnesses to the December event, which includes a ten-kilometre run, as well as a relay duathlon involving 14 kilometres of cycling and two 7.5-kilometre running bursts.
