Husky owners reminded about SHCGB eye clinic

September 6th, 2010

Husky owners have been reminded about an opportunity to get their animal's eyes tested at a clinic later this month.

The Siberian Husky Club of Great Britain is holding the event at Willows Veterinary Centre in Solihull on September 25th 2010.

Along with the tests, the meeting will also allow medical professionals to carry out important research into the usefulness of the gonioscopy examination.

The British Veterinary Association's eye specialist Christine Heinrich will be running the clinic, where a gonioscopy test will cost £45.

For £27, dogs can be given a general eye exam, with 25 free tests for glaucoma available to aid research efforts.

"It is good to know what is going on with your dog's eyes and at least if any unexpected problems are identified you can then act on them," SHCGB's Cathy Croman remarked.

The SHCGB is also holding a husky care and racing class for beginners in Sherwood Pines, Nottinghamshire on October 2nd 2010.
