This weekend saw Vikki, Ranger and Ria, from the Snowpaw team head off to the BSHRA Kings East Rally, whilst Sammy, Lucien and Selene competed at the weight pull event in Yorkshire.
The BSHRA rally saw a huge entry across all the classes, with well over 100 competitors in attendance. At long last, a properly cold rally was here to enjoy; so much so that we had a smattering of snow on the Saturday and for ten glorious minutes, a proper snow shower.
Vikki had an excellent run in DM class coming in 5th on the first day, and 8th on the Sunday where she, Ranger and Ria, in their Canadog X-Back harnesses, flew up the final gruelling hill neck and neck with Lindsey Cox’s Gunner and Boomer; Boomer only running his 2nd rally – well done Boomer! Lindsay was made to work hard with her team racing up the hill to the finish line, whilst Vikki enjoyed a fantastic high speed sprint to the top – a great spectacle for all to enjoy at the finish line.
The class was won both days by the relentless Tom Wheeler, who continues to dominate the Malamute classes this season and further extends his run of unbroken victories in what was a competitive class with the likes of Roger Bellamy, Justin Houghton and Adam Johnson.
