Tug lines are the term used for the line which connects the sled dog to the main gangline. The tug is often a different colour to the main gangline to help in resolving tangles quickly.

Tuglines need to be long lasting and high wearing to take the constant pounding expected.

The tug can also be used with our cani-cross bungee for jogging with your dog.

Manufactured by Nordkyn from polyethylene hollow braid rope, this neckline feature Italian Bronze snaps at each end to ensure it is one of the highest quality necklines on the market.  Approximately six inches long, it is used to connect lead dogs together by clipping it between their collars.

Necklines are also useful for running or walking two dogs by keeping them together. It reduces the risk of tangles and helps them to match pace when going along.  However please note it is important to let dogs match pace when running together as a much quicker dog can 'neckline' a slower dog, often causing the slower dog to be reluctant to run and make the experience uncomfortable.  This can be reduced by adding extra resistance to the dog team by applying brakes and slowing down to a pace which is comfortable for the slowest dog.

The boots provide pad protection on rough or stony surfaces and additionally can help keep a dogs feet clean.

This traditional singletree harness is used for weight pulling, sledding, and heavy-duty hauling. Frequently, it is used in wheel position (near the sled) because the low-draft hitch is more level with the gangline.

The hitch ring uses limited side slip to compensate for off-center loads, and the backstraps feature the same sliding "X" as the X-back harness.

This harness comes with a hardwood spreader kit. The spreader bar should be slightly wider than the rear of the dog. You may cut the bar if needed. The spreader bar should be touching the rear of the dog when the harness is in a relaxed position. Put the screws provided through the fabric and into the pre-drilled spreader bar. The height of the hitch is adjustable, so the load is always held in place for maximum pull.

This harness is specifically designed for use in dog drafting work, for pulling carts or four wheeled wagons.

Popular competitively in the US, drafting is ideally suited to large breeds such as the Burnese Mountain Dog and Newfoundland dogs who can move substantial loads in competition.

This harness, developed by Consie and Roger Powell, is for use primarily with a wagon, cart or travois, but can also be used with a sled or toboggan. This harness features the same neck design as our sledding harnesses to allow the dog free movement. The extremely adjustable forward cinch (girth) has loops for shafts. The rear cinch (girth) (use optional) helps hold the D-rings and side straps in place as well as keeping the harness in place when the cart pushes up against it.  Both cinches (girths) fasten with Delrin side release snaps. The size indicates the strength of the bungee as oppose to the length.

Small is for 1-3 dog teams; the mMdium is for 4-8 dog teams.

A bungee or shockline is an integral part of any working kit and takes different forms depending on the activity you are pursuing. If you are running a four dog husky team on a sled, you will require a different strength bungee to running a single collie in cani-cross; conversely a large malamute team would need an extremely heavy duty shock.

The line is made from soft polypropylene webbing, which reduces friction and burning when passing through your palms and it is also almost non water absorbing.

Made by ManMat, with a brass trigger hook at one end and a handle at the other, this lead is available in 2 lengths, either 5m / 16.5ft or 10m / 33ft long. Many people also prefer to use long lines for strong dogs instead of a flexi-leash as there is a reduced risk of rope burn using a flat leash and no mechanism to potentially break.

This line can be used for walking a dog such as a Siberian Husky, or Alaskan Malamute, which are known for their selective hearing when it comes time for recall, giving them room to have a relatively free run.

Snub Lines are used by mushers to secure a dog team to an inanimate object on the trail such as a tree.  They are usually hooked up to the sled, rig or scooter and when required, released and wrapped around the tree with the panic snap in reach of the musher for release when ready. 

The other end of the snub is usually attached to the gangline directly so that the pressure from the dogs pulling is not transmitted through the vehicle.  Extremely handy for quick breaks or to sort out tangles while on the trail.

Made with aircraft strength Bungee, this serious bit of kit is designed to provide shock to the most powerful of husky teams and is ideal for freighting teams pulling heavy loads.  This shock will take the pressure of as many dogs as required and is optimally designed for dog teams numbering 7 and above.

The panic snap is an essential piece of kit when skijoring or running with your dog in an activity such as Cani-Cross (sometimes called Cani-X). 

In an emergency situation, it may be necessary to quickly release yourself from your dog; using a panic snap allows you to pull the sliding locking joint back allowing the line to be released. This mechanism works even under tension.

The panic snap is also used in sledding and dryland mushing to secure the snub line to stationary objects (such as trees) while teams are untangled on the trail.

Please note some Cani-Cross organisations require the panic snap to be attached to the belt as opposed to the line. The use of a carabiner through the belt clips and attached to the panic snap allows the lines to be connected to the quick release mechanism.
